Revolver May 2010

May 19, 2010 00:27 Recording of the Revolver party during Brussels gay pride 2010. I played the opening set which lasted about 1h45, followed by DJ Saki, Andrei1 and DJ Oliver M who all played amazing music. Really still have a lot to learn!

First Night in Box

March 26, 2010 14:51 First public gig in Box club Brussels playing with the resident DJ Andrei1. This was an amazing experience for me: playing in front of a crowd for the first time and playing with another DJ for the first time. While I was quite nervous at first I think all in all the night turned out to be pretty good, and I hope you enjoy the mix. This podcast is a bit different from the others as it spans an entire night of mixing (about 4.5 hours) so it is quite a bit larger to download.

Mix 8: Baby we can do it!

March 14, 2010 15:32 Hi everyone, short description this time. Here's just another podcast for your enjoyment! As always comments and feedback are more than welcome, even criticism: let me have it! Slowly becoming comfortable mixing on CD players and mixer completely. Had a little bit of fun with one of the tracks, didn't turn out that great but it was a fun first experience.

Mix 5: Full House

August 30, 2009 15:02 Sorry for the long hiatus, I've been saving up for some new gear so have taken on some extra work which has meant no free time at all. I just got a new mixer though (DJM800, love it!) so couldn't pass up an occasion to take it for a ride. Enjoy! First mix with a DJM800, not very proficient with the effects yet, but think that my technique is getting better. Let me know what you think. I've started with a couple of very vocal housy tracks that you could listen to around the pool or on the beach, and slowly build up to the moment the sun goes down and the party really starts ;)

Pioneer HDJ2000 headphones review

<>The moment you open up the box of a pair of HDJ-2000 Pioneer headphones feels almost magical, and it better would, as the first thing you can say about these headphones is that they're definitely not cheap. Pioneer really put the price mark far above most other DJ headphone offerings on the market, around 300€'s including VAT in Europe, or 350$ in the US. This is over twice the price of a very decent pair of Technics headphones (like the rock solid DJ1200A I’ve owned for a while now). The question is, do these headphones really deliver your money's worth, or does Pioneer believe their reputation and brand name will be enough to sell you a product on par with the competition at a much greater price? Let me put things this way: I put my bank account in the red buying the

Mix 4: To the top

June 26, 2009 16:32 After a bit of a creative block I'm back mixing in some new and old tunes together. The mix starts out solid to grab your attention, then cools the dancefloor down a bit and sets it back on fire at the end. I had not mixed for a while when recording this mix, so it took some getting used to again. A lof of small mistakes in the beginning where I play with the eq's too abruptly during mixes (note to self: be carefull cutting mids too much, you can really hear it) One transition was really pretty bad though, the one to Afrikantastique - David Tort Remix. I had set the start of the track to play as a 8 bar loop in tractor but forgot to release the loop during the right measure in the phrase of other song, result: two songs don't match phrase. Not sure how well the levels are appreciated, tried to bring down the energy a bit in the middle of the mix but might have overdone it? I like the ending of the mix though, building up the energy and ending up with a song that works great in large rooms.
